ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Charges are pending against a driver involved in a crash that killed a woman, according to Virginia State Police.

Police say the crash was Tuesday, September 16, 2025 on Valley Ridge Road, half a mile east of Smokey Bear Lane in Alleghany County.

The driver of a Kia Sportage was headed west on Valley Ridge Road, crossed the centerline and hit a Dodge Dart head-on, according to police.

The driver of the Dodge, Angela Sizemore Anderson, 72, of Covington, died after being taken to a hospital.

Police say the driver of the Kia was taken to the same hospital for treatment of injuries received in the crash, and that charges are pending against that driver.
