COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A Richland County man in prison will have to serve an additional 15 years in prison after throwing a cup of bodily fluids at a corrections officer.

The Eleventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office said Donald Harper Jr., who was already serving a 24-year sentence for the 2015 murder of a Benedict College instructor , pleaded guilty to throwing a cup of diarrhea at a corrections officer at McCormick Correctional Institution.

Prosecutors said the incident happened in January, when Harper threw the cup at an officer as the latter was delivering meals. The officer was hit in the eyes and mouth, requiring medical attention as well as continuous monitoring for potential infectious diseases.
