COLUMBIA, S.C. — University of South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson is recovering at home following a severe head-on collision in August that left him hospitalized for more than two weeks and claimed the life of another driver.

Robertson sustained multiple "life-changing" injuries in the Aug. 22 crash on Dutch Fork Road in Richland County, when a Nissan Pathfinder reportedly crossed the center line and struck his Chevrolet Tahoe head-on, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The other driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
