The new Career Technical Education building, aimed at training students for high-demand jobs across the Sacramento region, is now officially open on the campus of American River College.

"The state-of-the-art facility is designed to prepare students for high-demand jobs through hands-on training and academic support," read a news release.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday marked the formal opening of the new facility.

Programs in the CTE building include automotive, design and engineering, as well as welding technologies. Other opportunities offered include an electrician trainee program and funeral services education.

"ARC's programs are developed in collaboration with local employers to ensure training aligns with current and future industry needs," read the news release.
