KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A murder suspect is behind bars months after he is accused of cutting off his ankle monitor and disappeared.

According to court documents, a grand jury indicted Richard Zane Holliday in July 2024, for killing Sheryl Turley in March 2022.

A year later, in August 2025, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said it learned Holliday removed his court-ordered ankle monitor. A judge issued a warrant for Holliday’s arrest.

Court records show officers served Holliday with an arrest warrant on Sept. 10. He’s been in the Jackson County Jail since his arrest.

Holliday is scheduled to be in court on Oct. 31.
