COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A former College Park code enforcement supervisor is suing the city for retaliation related to a council member's actions.
Jerry Silver is accusing Councilman Roderick Gay of misusing his office by directing him to allegedly target properties linked to personal disputes and more. He is also accusing the city of retaliatory termination, according to the lawsuit.
Silver was hired in December 2023. According to the lawsuit, he alleges the pressure and the misconduct started in January 2024 and continued into 2025.
He claims he was fired on May 20, four business days after a tense meeting with city officials over one of the properties that Silver refused to cite.
