PORTLAND, Oregon — Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii have released a new set of vaccine recommendations under the West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA), and several Oregon state agencies issued directives Wednesday afternoon aimed at ensuring universal access to COVID-19 vaccines for Oregonians without any need for a prescription from a doctor.

The four states formed the bloc earlier this month in response to recent turmoil at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal agencies under the leadership of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., including firing the CDC director and placing new restrictions on placed COVID vaccine access.
