Rutland City Police Chief Brian Kilcullen wants to be able to hire some shorter officers, and maybe a couple older ones, too.

Kilcullen appeared before the Board of Aldermen asking that the city review the ordinance requiring that police officers be a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches and no more than 45 years old. The board voted unanimously to refer the request to the Charter and Ordinance Committee.
