One man is dead, and another was seriously injured after a three-car collision in Bennington early Saturday morning.

According to Bennington police, the crash happened along Route 7 at around 5:15 a.m. Reports of the incident said that multiple people were injured and one of the vehicles involved was on fire.

Officers from the department responded to the scene, just north of exit 2, along with members from the Bennington Rural Fire Department and the Bennington Rescue Squad.

First responders arrived at the scene to find Route 7 completely blocked off by the vehicles in the roadway and a debris field from the collision.
