COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The public now has the opportunity to help name the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Western Lowland Gorilla baby!
The baby was born to gorillas Asha and Goma on July 21. CMZoo said it has been almost 13 years since a gorilla was born at the zoo, and this is Asha’s third baby and Goma’s first.
As the zoo prepares to name the baby gorilla, they are inviting the public to share their input.
CMZoo says a minimum $5 donation is required to vote for a name , and they say all donations go towards a new home for a new Primate World.
Guests can donate any amount starting at $5 until October 9, and the zoo says the name that receives the most donations will win.
Guests can choose between three names: Ryder, Sully and Abu.
