EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — This is the third week of September, which only means one thing in Effingham County. It is time to renew the annual rivalry between South Effingham and Effingham County.

These programs have met every year since 1996. Effingham County holds the advantage in the all-time series. They led 19-12. More recently, Effingham County has won the past five matchups. They have also won 12 of the past 15 games.

As head coach, John Ford has never lost in this series. He is 4-0. This season, Effingham County is 2-2 on the year overall and 1-1 in 1-AAAAA. Last week, the Rebels defeated Bradwell Institute, 43-35.
