HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Huntington city leaders say they’ll be expanding an initiative to get streetlights repaired.

WSAZ reported last week on Project Lights On, an effort to make residents feel safer.

Huntington councilmember Linda Blough said one of the top issues residents in the Highlawn area have voiced concerns over is non-working streetlights.

“A well-lit city to me is a safer city,” she said.

A couple weeks ago, community members checked for streetlights that were out in the Highlawn area and found more than 40.
