OWENSBORO, Ky. — Seven years ago, Grant Oller, a 16-year-old high school athlete from Owensboro, was preparing for his homecoming dance when a persistent cough took a dire turn.
Diagnosed with severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome, his condition overwhelmed local care at Owensboro Health.
