OWENSBORO, Ky. — Seven years ago, Grant Oller, a 16-year-old high school athlete from Owensboro, was preparing for his homecoming dance when a persistent cough took a dire turn.

Diagnosed with severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome, his condition overwhelmed local care at Owensboro Health. A critical helicopter transfer to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville saved his life, highlighting the vital role of specialized pediatric care and fueling momentum for a new Norton Children’s Hospital campus to serve more Kentucky families.
