SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - High pressure will continue to gradually weaken over the next week allowing for increasing storm chances and a gradual cooling trend.

For this evening, any lingering storms will tend to dissipate quickly once the sun goes down with quiet weather expected overnight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s and low 70s.

Another hot day ahead for Thursday with temperatures climbing into the mid and upper 90s. Once again, widely scattered storms will develop during the afternoon, but many places will remain dry.

Storm chances will increase by Friday as a weak boundary pushes south through the region. A few of these could turn strong but widespread severe weather is not expected. Highs will cool slightly into the lower 90s.
