AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Taylor Police Department Chief Henry Fluck is retiring after serving the city for more than 12 years, according to the city of Taylor.
Fluck's last day with the city will be on Sept. 22, per the city in a Wednesday news release.
Fluck began his career with the El Paso Police Department more than 49 years ago. He then served as the police chief for the city of Cedar Park for 13 years before moving to Taylor in 2013, according to the city.
"Chief Fluck has been a great asset to our community," city of Taylor City Manager Brian LaBorde said in the release. "He has invested in the department's capabilities, created a culture of service, and served Taylor with honor."
