EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Rain has been hard to come by here in the Tri-state. It’s been bad enough that several counties have started using burn bans.

As you might imagine, one group being hit particularly hard is farmers.

The Kron farm in northern Vanderburgh County is no exception, and they say their yields will take a hit.

Joyce Kron says all they can do is hope for the best.

“It’s been an unusual year for us, we haven’t had much for rain, so we’re hopefull for average crops at best,” Joyce stated. “The rain...it’s just been so spotty across Indiana so we’ve been unfortunate to not get much for the rain this year.”

Fewer crops means less income, and farm maintainance is not cheap.

Their blue tractor? That costs three hundred thousand dollars.

Their combine? That’s half a million
