DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Davenport city leaders are moving forward with plans to bring a new program to the west end of town to support food-related businesses in the Rockingham Corridor.
Wednesday night at Davenport City Council’s Committee of the Whole Meeting, discussions began on the project which the city is calling the FRESH Project. It’ll provide grant funding to new and existing, food-related businesses to help grow the area.
In recent years, several businesses have closed up shop, like the west end Hy-Vee that closed in June of 2024.
This spring, city council allocated $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to help revitalize the west end of Davenport.
