TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Becoming a U.S. citizen will mean hitting the books a little harder now.

Applicants for citizenship face a larger bank of questions to study and must answer more of them correctly.

“The bottom line is it’s become much more difficult, the test,” said immigration attorney Luis Campos.

Campos explained that expanding the bank of citizenship questions from 100 to 128 and the number of them an applicant must answer from 10 to 20 are only part of the changes by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the Trump Administration.

“Clearly, it’s a harder test, the standards are more difficult but it’s part of the new vetting system that we have in the United States. And I say ‘vetting,’ I mean naturalization vetting,” Campos said.
