TORRINGTON, Conn. — Teachers and staff at Torrington Public Schools may soon face new dress code requirements if a proposal by the Board of Education is approved.

Currently, the district only enforces dress code rules for students, but during a meeting at Torringford Elementary School Wednesday evening, board members discussed expanding those standards to cover all school staff.

“This is not just for teachers. It covers all our employees,” said Edward Corey, co-chairman of the Torrington Board of Education. “We just want to put it in writing, what’s acceptable attire for employees, from cafeteria workers and custodians to paraprofessionals and teachers.”
