ALOHA, Ore. — Eight families were displaced by a fire at an Aloha apartment complex early Wednesday morning, fire and medical officials confirmed. One person had to be treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
The fire broke out shortly after 3 a.m. at one of the buildings in a larger complex near Southwest 201st Avenue and West Baseline Road. A resident called 911, reporting flames on their balcony that were speaking from an apartment below.
Firefighters arrived to two apartments engulfed in flames, including the roof of the two-story building, which had eight units. The fire was upgraded to a two- and three- alarm.
Firefighters worked "across the entire roof" to get the flames under control, a spokesperson with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue told KGW. It was under control by 5:07 a.
