PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley chose the team over multiple other organizations who wanted to land him, he said at his locker on Wednesday.
Bentley joined the Steelers’ practice squad in hopes of earning a bigger role at some point given their run defense struggles. It is unknown if that is what the Steelers have in mind for him, too, but Bentley has no trouble embracing the physicality of the game.
“That’s a good characteristic to have when you’re playing football,” Bentley said. “So that’s something I would like to bring with me everywhere I go: just being a physical player and doing whatever I need to do to help teams win.”
