A Tasmanian court has heard a man left a voice message "minutes" after an alleged murder, saying he had just seen a person stabbed 10 times, but maintains he only learned a knife was used after fleeing the incident.

Brothers Luke Anthony Shaw and Paul William Shaw, along with Patrick Kenneth Dolbey are on trial in the Launceston Supreme Court for the alleged murder of David Wayne Jenkins in George Town on October 22, 2022.

They have all pleaded not guilty, with lawyers arguing self-defence or defence of others.

The court has heard Mr Jenkins was stabbed 11 times.

On the trial's eighth day, the jury was played a police interview with Mr Dolbey, recorded on October 25th, 2022 — a day after he provided information that led them to a knife, the alleged murder weapon.
