EL CENTRO — Innercare, a nonprofit health center that serves Imperial and Riverside counties, was recently honored with the 2025 F. Douglas Scutchfield Community Champion Award by San Diego State University’s (SDSU) School of Public Health.

The award recognizes organizations that reflect the values of Dr. F. Douglas Scutchfield, a founder of SDSU’s public health education program and a national supporter of fair and accessible healthcare systems.

Yvonne Bell, President and CEO of Innercare, said she was “deeply honored to receive this recognition” and that Scutchfield’s legacy “inspires us to continue working toward health equity, improving access to care, and strengthening the communities we serve.”
