MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The founder of a national pain clinic franchise has pleaded guilty to medical fraud.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson says Wadsworth defrauded over a dozen franchise owners through a scheme involving microcurrent therapy at treatment centers nationwide.

"Wadsworth is a modern-day snake oil salesman," Thompson said. "Fraud that exploits families searching for answers is among the most shameless crimes we see."
