CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Seth John Lee McGraw, a 25-year-old from Cedar Rapids, has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for charges related to a failed drug deal. McGraw pleaded guilty on April 3 to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of an unregistered firearm. Federal prosecutors say on August 24, 2024, McGraw attempted to sell marijuana in Cedar Rapids. The deal went awry, leading McGraw to shoot the buyer twice.
