SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — A Shelbyville mother has been charged with neglect following the death of her toddler.

Sophie Igou, 28, was charged Sept. 23 with two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death and three additional counts of neglect of a dependent, according to online court records. On Tuesday, Sept. 23, her bond was set at $2 million

Her other children have been placed with the Department of Child Services (DCS).

According to court documents, Sophie called 911 around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 and said that her "baby was dead."

Officers arrived to the 900 block of Hale Road , near Miller Avenue and Colescott Street, and found Sophie and her 22-month-old child, Jasper Igou, who was lying in the driveway. Officers tried to provide medical assistance to the child, but off
