A man was killed after his car collided with a dump truck in Sussex County Sept. 17, authorities said.

Richard Dudley, 70, of Madison, was traveling south on Route 206 in Sandyston around 1 p.m. when he struck a dump truck near mile post 121.7, New Jersey State Police Trooper Christopher Postorino said.

Dudley's car crossed the double yellow line and hit the truck in the northbound lane, ejecting him from the vehicle. Dudley was killed as a result of the impact, while the dump truck driver sustained minor injuries.

The crash remained under investigation as of Sept. 18, Postorino said.
