DANVILLE, Ind. — A dump truck driver died Thursday afternoon after police say the truck crashed into a Danville residence.

According to a release from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office, around 4:20 p.m. on Sept. 18, deputies were called to the intersection of US 36 and County Road 450 West on a report that a dump truck had crashed into a building.

Police say a 63-year-old Lizton man was extricated from the dump truck but was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, police believe the dump truck was traveling eastbound on US 36 when, for an undetermined reason, it crossed the center lane and then left the north side of the roadway.
