Arizona's newest town, formed from the state's largest community to incorporate, now has a governing council.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors appointed San Tan Valley's inaugural town council on Sept. 17, and formally declared and ordered the area to be incorporated into the town of San Tan Valley.
The moment was met with applause from audience members and the date was recognized as the town’s “birthday” by Allen Quist, an attorney with the Pierce Coleman law firm, who worked with the San Tan Valley incorporation committee.
