SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — The first members of the San Tan Valley Town Council have been selected by county officials.

During a meeting on Wednesday, seven individuals were selected by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors to serve as the first representatives of the newly incorporated community. The candidates were picked from a pool of 86 applicants.

The board additionally approved a resolution that officially incorporated San Tan Valley as a new municipality. Voters recently approved a ballot measure that called for incorporating the large community of an estimated 100,000 residents.

The seven appointed council members will be:

Bryan Hunt

Gia Jenkins

Daniel Oakes

Daren Schnepf

Brian Tyler

Rupert Wolfert
