RYE, Texas — A little girl nabbed a massive alligator while hunting with family members in Rye, Texas, about 70 miles northeast of Houston.

Eleven-year-old Jocelyn Roberts was hunting on a private ranch owned by a family friend, her family told the Bluebonnet News.

Her dad, Trey Roberts, was allotted two hunting tags for alligator season, so he decided to take Jocelyn, her 15-year-old brother, and two younger brothers.

The family shares the same ritual whenever they hunt and fish together.

"We make a quick, short prayer always on praying for safety, praying for a cool opportunity and adventure," Trey said.

The first five days of hunting, they didn't have any luck.
