CHARLESTON — Four candidates vying for two seats on City Council were peppered with questions primarily about flooding and affordable housing at a recent forum.
The city doesn't have a mayor's race this year, but half of the council’s 12 districts are on the Nov. 4 ballot. The Sept. 17 forum focused on the two contested peninsula seats in District 4 that covers most of the East Side and the Neck Area and in District 6 encompassing the West Side from Calhoun to Mount Pleasant streets.
While the races are nonpartisan, the Peninsula Democrats hosted the discussion, moderated by Live 5 news anchor Raphael James, at Morris Brown AME Church located just off King Street in District 4.
