A Kentucky man was arrested in Decatur for drug trafficking, according to police.

On Thursday, the Decatur Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a hotel near 6th Avenue NE and Wilson Street NE.

The Decatur Police Department says the occupant of the room was identified as 53-year-old Eric Wayne Melton.

During the investigation and execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized 7.5 ounces of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Melton was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan County Jail for trafficking in illegal drugs and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $5,300.
