MECOSTA COUNTY, MI - After a report that a student had a gun at Chippewa Hills High School on Thursday, Sept. 18, two students have been turned over to the school’s administration for disciplinary action.

A police investigation found no credible threat or evidence of a gun being on school grounds. Mecosta County deputies conducted a complete search of the building alongside Michigan State Police K-9 units.

Several interviews with students were completed, the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office said in an emailed statement.

The students turned over for disciplinary action have not been named at this time.

The high school, 3226 Arthur Road in Remus, was placed in lockdown earlier on Thursday, until Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies could complete their search of the school.
