LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kevin Cosby is truly a pillar of the community. For 46 years he has served as senior pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church—the largest African American Church in Kentucky. He is also the president of Louisville’s only Historically Black College & University, Simmons College. On Thursday, he was honored with a “Hometown Heroes” banner in downtown Louisville.

Cosby’s banner was installed on the north-facing wall of the Republic Bank Plaza at 7th and Market Street downtown.

“We are proud to honor Dr. Cosby with a Hometown Heroes banner on our Republic Bank Plaza Building,” said Steve Trager, Republic Bank Executive Chair. “His unwavering commitment to education, faith and community empowerment has uplifted generations in Louisville and beyond.”
