A multi-agency operation will resume efforts to access the location where a small plane crashed in a national park in southern NSW.
The small recreational aircraft carrying a single pilot took off from Bankstown Airport on Thursday.
Police say the plane was returning to the airport when the crash occurred.
Emergency services were alerted to the activation of an emergency location transmitter in Budawang National Park, around 25 kilometres north of Batemans Bay.
A multi-agency search involving police, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the ambulance helicopter and fire authorities located the crash site by air a short time later.
Efforts to access the site resumed at 7am this morning.
They are working to reach the site by foot which remains challenging due to difficult terrain
