BELOIT, WI (WREX) — A new law in Wisconsin is causing challenges for smoke shops across the state. Known as Act 73, this legislation aims to reduce youth vaping and eliminate unregulated vaping products. However, the recent amendment to the law, which took effect this month, is already impacting shop owners.

Under the new requirements, vape products can only be sold if they are both FDA-approved and state-certified. The problem is Wisconsin currently has an unofficial list of only 17 approved products. This leaves many stores unable to sell a significant portion of their inventory. If they do sell unapproved items, they could face fines of up to $1,000 per item.
