Three Edmonton Police Service officers are recuperating after a crash in western Alberta.

RCMP officers in Edson responded to the single vehicle collision at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday, Mounties confirmed to Postmedia. The city police officers were in the area conducting an unspecified investigation, RCMP Cpl. Mathew Howell said in an email. They were transported to hospital “for examination of non-life-threatening injuries,” he said.

Howell did not specify where the crash occurred but said it happened off the main highway. It is too soon to say whether speed, road conditions or any other factors contributed to the crash, he added.

“The Edson RCMP has carriage of the investigation and an update will be considered should more information become available.”

Edson is around 200 km west of Edmont
