SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. at the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre, South Dakota News Watch and South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB) are hosting a “Separation of Powers” town hall.
At the town hall, representatives from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches will discuss how their sides of government operate and how they differ from their counterparts at the federal level.
“Tonight is about really having that level of understanding about what these positions are and keeping the dialogue going, making our officials accessible,” Cara Hetland, the Director of Journalism for SDPB, said.
Last November’s General Election had a standard turnout, but the primary elections that same year were a massive letdown, with just 17% voter participation st
