$4 difference on the same groceries: KPRC 2 finds where Houston shoppers save the most

HOUSTON – As Houston families grapple with stubborn grocery inflation, even small price differences add up fast. A KPRC 2 price comparison found that a simple basket of staples can swing nearly $4 depending on where you shop—making store choice a critical factor in stretching household budgets.

Grocery prices have risen more than 3% nationally over the past year and 2.5% across the Houston area, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data .
