ELKINS, W.Va. (WBOY) — In addition to its weekly Lunch with Neighbors program, Elkins' First United Methodist Church (FUMC) is offering free meals to the public for the upcoming Mountain State Forest Festival.
For nearly five years now, First United Methodist has offered free meals every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. However, with Elkins' beloved Mountain State Forest Festival upcoming, the church is extending its meals to all who are interested.
The menu for the festival weekend includes BBQ, hot dogs, chili dogs, tater tots, baked beans and coleslaw, which will be offered from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Marshall Howser, FUMC's chef for Lunch with Neighbors, told 12 News why the church chose to extend its offer to the public in this way.
