ELKINS, W.Va. (WBOY) — As a way to help bring color to the streets of the Elkins community, Our Town and community members are working together to beautify the "Moose building" located at 112 Davis Avenue.
The current plan for the vacant facility is to replace the press boards with window panels painted with sky scenes by local artist Wilhelmina McWhorter.
The windows with thicker glass at the bottom of the building will be painted with gel paint to look like stained glass.
YouthBuild will also be installing the new windows as a project within the program, calling for all parts of the community to come together here.
Community member of Our Town, Desire Watson, spoke with 12 News on the choice of utilizing McWhorter for the project and her hopes of expanding into future art-related pro
