LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — NV Energy has filed with the Public Utilities Commission to add additional refunds to over 42,000 customers impacted by a rate misclassification.
According to NV Energy, after the error was discovered $5.4 million was initially refunded to customers. The power company now says they will offer an additional $32.6 million, which would include interest to the current and former customers affected.
NV Energy officials said thousands of homes were incorrectly labeled and charged as single-family dwellings. These misclassifications were issued on or around June 23, 2017.
