About 40 people gathered outside the Historic 1904 Courthouse Wednesday afternoon to observe a vigil in honor of political activist Charlie Kirk, an Arizona resident who promoted conservative ideologies.

Attendees from throughout Santa Cruz County lit candles, held prayers and expressed their support for Kirk, who was fatally shot on Sept. 10. They praised Kirk’s religious values, efforts to impart the gospel to youth, and expressed opposition to progressive values. ×
