PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - After serving the community for the past four decades or so, the Town and Country Animal Rescue in Papillion needs some major repairs.
Operations manager Diana Briggs said the tipping point for this renovation started with the plumbing.
“Our pipes up in our dog adoption building actually kind of just collapsed and disintegrated a little bit,” Briggs said.
The issue means the dogs can’t go through another winter at the shelter. Other issues include non-functioning kennel doors and a general need for more space for cats and dogs. Staff said now is the right time to make changes.
They’re kicking off a years-long renovation process across the entire facility, starting with the dog kennels.
Briggs said the current facility can hold about 18 dogs. She hopes to expan
