WASHINGTON TWP. – Romeo has an up-and-coming boys tennis program.

The Bulldogs reminded rival Utica Eisenhower of that fact Thursday.

Romeo won seven of the eight flights to topple the Eagles 7-1 in a Macomb Area Conference Red Division showdown between two of the better teams in the entire multi-division MAC.

The win moved Romeo into second place in the MAC Red Division behind defending league champion and Division 2 state-ranked Grosse Pointe South, traditionally one of the top teams in the MAC over the years.

Romeo (7-4-0, 3-1) swept all four singles flights and also won the last three doubles matches to topple Eisenhower for the second straight year. The Bulldogs swept the Eagles 8-0 last year in league pay.
