CHARLOTTE, NC — James Godfrey feels forgotten by Charlotte city officials after he was attacked on a CATS bus six months ago. It left the homeless Navy veteran paralyzed.

“I wake up with tears in my eyes a lot of mornings because it’s just when I wake up and I come to and I realize that this is what I got to be in and put up with for the rest of my life.,” said Godfrey.

In March, Godfrey was attacked, he claimed over a bookbag. CMPD said Moses Early broke Godfrey’s neck.

Video released by CATS shows Godfrey thrown to the ground and kicked repeatedly. When it ended, Godfrey laid on the ground while the bus driver continued her route.
