BELTON, Texas — Several four-legged residents of the Bell County Animal Shelter in Belton tried their hands, or paws, at a new skill this week, painting!

The shelter gave several of their dogs the chance to create masterpieces of their own in a push to show them off for residents interested in adopting.

To create the art, the shelter placed canvases with paint on them inside plastic bags, and the dogs then licked the bags to spread the paint around the canvases, creating artwork in vibrant blues, purples, greens and more.
