MARQUETTE — The Michigan State Police have announced the retirement of Capt. Darren Green, commander of the Eighth District, after 25 years of distinguished service to the department and the people of Michigan.

Green has led MSP field services for the Eighth District, which encompasses the entire Upper Peninsula, since August 2023.

Green began his career with the MSP as a member of the 119th Trooper Recruit School, which began on Sept. 17, 2000. He served in multiple assignments throughout the state, with the majority of his career spent in MSP’s First District.
