Grammy Award-winning singer Brett James , 57, has tragically died in a plane crash.
The acclaimed songwriter , known for his collaborations with stars such as Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Bon Jovi, was one of three people aboard an aircraft that crashed into a field in North Carolina.
Brett's notable achievements include winning a Grammy Award in 2007 for Carrie Underwood' s hit track 'Jesus Take The Wheel'. The ill-fated Cirrus SR22T aircraft, registered to Brett, had taken off from Nashville, Tennessee before crashing in Macon County around 3pm local time on Thursday.
The cause of the devastating crash remains unknown, with officials from the National Transportation Safety Board set to commence an investigation. Brett enjoyed a successful musi
